I turned the Chapter 15 of Substack Mastery book to a short podcast for anyone can understand in 4 minutes.
I had the privilege of being an editor for the early version of the best-selling Substack Mastery book authored by my mentor Dr Mehmet Yildiz (Main) who also introduced me to Substack when I totally lost hope on this platform and got disappointed with not being able to amplify important public health information.
This remarkable and first of a kind book arrived at the right time giving hope to thousands of disappointed and frustrated writers like me. Now I have the privilege of being a beta reader for this book and shared my honest thoughts about the power of the book which significantly improved the progress of my newsletter Health Science Research By Dr Mike Broadly. I also left a 5-star deserved review on Goodreads.
In this short post I want to focus new Chapter 15 for beta readers published on multiple platforms and unfortunately received the lowest view on Medium.com despite massive following the author. As an editor of his publication I checked the stats of this story and only 10 readers out of his 101K followers had the chance of seeing this story published on ILLUMINATION, followed by 132K readers.
It reminds me of the recent story of a retired engineer and system thinker Veritas Civis which poignantly highlight the pain of overt censorship on this platform. It is sad that now our stories only get views from direct links and our audience means nothing on this platform which is one of the reasons so many writers are now exploring new platforms which can distribute content fairly.
Here is the link to this new chapter including 18 minutes of quality information reflecting the experience of the author as a seasoned writers and content strategist who generously share his intellectual property freely with the public to empower underprivileged writers like me. He is democratizing access to information and transferring his tacit knowledge.

Why and How to Integrate Substack with Patreon for Compelling Reasons Based on Experience and Observations of…medium.com
The Purpose and Value of this Chapter for Freelance Writers
This chapter on Substack Mastery offers invaluable insights for freelance writers like me, especially as someone new to the platform and looking to explore Patreon.
It provides a clear roadmap on how to succeed on Substack, from building an audience to understanding how to create engaging content that keeps readers coming back. The guidance in this chapter demystifies the process of growing on Substack, allowing writers to focus more on their craft without getting overwhelmed by the technicalities.
For someone like me, who’s also planning to explore Patreon like the empowering one by Dr Yildiz for freelancers, this chapter serves as an exceleltn introduction to leveraging multiple platforms.
Substack can be an excellent foundation to establish a loyal reader base, while Patreon allows for a more personalized way to offer exclusive content to supporters. By implementing the tips shared here, I feel confident that I can turn my passion for writing into a sustainable venture across both platforms.
Ultimately, this chapter feels like a mentor in written form — offering practical, relatable advice for anyone wanting to maximize their freelance writing potential while opening doors to new opportunities like Patreon.
Inspired by Britni Pepper who created a remarkable podcast of the previous chapters of the Substack Mastery book in her inspiring newsletter yesterday, today I created a similar interactive podcast to summarize the value of this chapter clearly in a way anyone can understand. I posted it to my blogs and also to my newsletter on Substack named Health Science Research By Dr Mike Broadly.
Here is the 4-minute podcast which summarizes the key point of this invaluable chapter for any freelance writers and content entrepreneurs.
Integrating Substack with Patreon Seamlessly for Greater Benefits for Creators
I know there are thousands of freelance writers on Medium but only 0.1% had the chance to read the free version of this best selling book because Medium does not seem to want to empower writers like Substack and Patreon do. This is my belief until Medium shows a sign to distribute our stories to our audience and the audience of the publications we support as volunteer editors.
A big gratitude to Dr. Gabriella Korosi who supports the Substack Mastery publication on Medium and the ILLUMINATION on Substack.
