Meet an inspiring writer and editor of Technology Hits on Medium.
Dear Subscribers,
If you have been following my stories lately, you may have been expecting another great intro. Yes, I won’t disappoint you today either because I found another gem in my circles and cannot wait to introduce you to a talented professional going above and beyond in life.
Today, I’‘d like to ’introduce you to Ethiraj Srinivasan, a brilliant data engineer from Singapore with a knack for turning complex data problems into elegant solutions — and a whole lot more.
I know him because Ethiraj is an editorial colleague who joined our publications as a volunteer editor. He currently supports Technology Hits, which is a specialized pub under the ILLUMINATION umbrella.
Ethiraj is one of those rare individuals who seamlessly combines technical wizardry with artistic curiosity, making him a fascinating personality both in and outside the tech world.
Ethiraj’s story begins in Chennai, the bustling cultural capital of South India, where he graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University. Like many of us, his career started with a solid, straightforward job — in his case, as a software developer at TCS.
But if you meet Ethiraj, you’ll know he’s never one to settle. It wasn’t long before he caught the open-source bug at Pramati Technologies (now Accenture), diving headfirst into the dynamic domain of collaborative innovation.
Amid all this tech talk, Ethiraj also discovered his love for books — self-help, philosophy, and business/finance, to name a few genres that now define his personal library. Who knew a tech head would have an interest in those soft skill areas?
Ethiraj took his talents to the next level with a Master’s in Software Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). This wasn’t just a degree for him but a turning point in his life.
NUS sharpened his skills in data science and engineering, catapulting him into roles at cutting-edge startups. Nevertheless, Ethiraj didn’t just survive the startup grind. He actually thrived in it by building data solutions for fast-scaling businesses while discovering his culinary side (yes, the man can cook🤠).
Fast forward to his work at Shopee, Southeast Asia’s e-commerce giant. Ethiraj became the go-to guy for building robust data pipelines and untangling complex data ecosystems, ensuring that Shopee’s platform runs like a dream.
But here’s where Ethiraj gets even more interesting. When he’s not solving data puzzles, he’s chasing wildlife — through the lens of his camera. His photography captures the wild and untamed beauty of nature, with his work showcased on Instagram to the delight of his followers.
And let’s not forget his love for writing. Inspired by his extensive reading, Ethiraj shares his thoughts on self-improvement, tech, and life on Medium. He’s become a regular contributor and even edits Technology Hits, where his sharp insights and clear prose shine through.
Ethiraj’s journey from Chennai to Singapore — and from software developer to data engineering is an example to his curiosity and passion for growth.
So in short, whether he’s cooking up a delicious feast, capturing a majestic tiger in the wild, or penning his latest article, Ethiraj approaches life with enthusiasm and grace.
If you’re looking for someone who can inspire you to blend creativity with technical mastery — and look great doing it — Ethiraj is one of your guys who can inform and inspire. Follow his work, marvel at his photography, and prepare to learn from his unique perspectives on life.
I found a few great pieces from Ethiraj’s extensive writing portfolio. Please enjoy, engage, and share so that others can benefit from his insights.
Thank you for reading these meaningful stories and following his profile 🙏
