What was he thinking?
An Angry eel in a man’s stomach

It raises the question, how did this “Folk Remedy” come to exist? Rumors can start, I get it: but I wonder how many people died? and I’m amazed that someone would get so bound up that they would shove a live creature with teeth into their rectums. I have never been that constipated.
I was surfing the web the other day when I ran across a three-year-old article. A man in China let a live eel crawl up his butt into his rectum. The eel, who I’m sure was quite angry went to the man’s colon bit through it, and entered the abdomen. It must have hurt like Hell, but the man “Was too shy” to go to the hospital until a day later.
The Surgeon removed the pissed-off eel, yes, it was still alive, from the man’s abdomen. I bet the surgeon killed the slimy critter immediately. I at first didn’t believe the story, so I did a search and found that the story was picked up by several reputable news sources.
I was hoping the story was an Urban Legend, like “Gerbiling” but it’s sadly true. It makes you wonder what other weird practices and Folk Medicines ancient cultures practice.
Final Thought:
The world is made up of diverse people and cultures. It’s interesting reading about them, and it’s a good thing to have compassion and understanding, but I can’t wrap my head around how anyone would think letting a live eel slither inside their rectum would be a good thing, to each his own
