A few weeks ago, a client came to me in a mild panic.
Their organic traffic had been dropping, not suddenly, but steadily. Blog posts that once pulled in consistent traffic were now barely showing up. They’d been investing in content, had solid backlinks, and followed all the old-school SEO best practices.
So what went wrong?
We dug in together. And that’s when it hit us.
They were ranking on Google.
But they weren’t showing up in the places people now actually look.
Because here’s the quiet shift that’s turning SEO on its head:
People don’t just Google anymore.
They ask.
They converse with ChatGPT.
They search Reddit.
They look for answers inside Amazon, YouTube, TikTok—even the comment sections of niche forums.
And increasingly, AI is deciding which websites show up, and which get silently ignored.
Let me give you an example.
Imagine you sell specialty coffee. For years, you tried to rank #1 for “best pour-over coffee.” You finally made it. But now? When someone searches that phrase, they don’t even see your link. They get an AI-generated summary of “the best pour-over coffees,” and your brand isn’t even mentioned.
You didn’t lose the ranking.
You lost the visibility.
That’s the new game:
AI doesn’t just summarize, it curates.
And if your content isn’t written for AI systems to find, understand, and trust… it might as well not exist.
So what does this mean for your content?
It means you can’t afford to write like it’s 2012.
AI doesn’t want fluffy intros, cutesy analogies, or keyword stuffing.
It wants clear, confident, structured answers — the kind that make it easy to understand what you know, who you serve, and why it should trust you.
And that trust?
It doesn’t come from SEO hacks.
It comes from your reputation.
From how clearly your content reflects expertise, evidence, and empathy.
From how well you actually help people.
If that feels like a big shift, it is.
But it’s also an opportunity.
Because the brands that adapt to this new kind of visibility?
They’ll earn trust faster. Stay top of mind longer. And show up exactly where the customer is already looking.
And speaking of showing up where it matters…
If you’ve ever had people join your list, only to disappear into the void..
If you’ve ever sent out emails and heard nothing but crickets..
If you’ve got an audience, but not a connection..
Then you don’t need to “grow your list.”
You need a better way to show up for the one you already have.
That’s exactly why I created:
