At DigitalMehmet.com, we are committed to maintaining a secure, trustworthy, and high-integrity platform for our readers, contributors, and partners. This page outlines how we prevent, detect, and respond to fraudulent and spam-related activities using both WordPress-native tools and industry-standard practices.

1. Purpose of This Policy

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Protect the integrity of our content and community.
  • Comply with legal and platform requirements (including Google services).
  • Ensure a clean and respectful environment for users and partners.

We actively monitor user activity, detect suspicious patterns, and respond promptly to abuse.

2. Detection and Mitigation Techniques

A. WordPress-Based Tools and Technologies

We utilize multiple security layers and spam detection methods, including:

  • Akismet Anti-Spam: Filters comments, form entries, and pingbacks to detect spam using global spam databases.
  • Honeypot Fields: Invisible form fields are used to trap bots before they reach our backend.
  • Google reCAPTCHA (v3 and v2): Actively implemented on contact, directory, and submission forms to block bots.
  • WP Armour & CleanTalk (Optional Plugins): Additional protection to stop spam registrations and contact form misuse.

B. Traffic & Behavior Monitoring

  • Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats: Used to detect traffic anomalies such as rapid clicks, bot activity, or brute-force patterns.
  • Login Attempt Monitoring: Limited login attempts, login CAPTCHA, and IP lockouts are enabled to block brute-force attacks.

C. Firewall and Bot Protection

  • Wordfence Security Firewall: Blocks known malicious IPs, detects suspicious behavior, and enforces rate limiting.
  • IP Blacklist and Geo-Blocking: IPs from known abusive regions or flagged by threat intelligence sources may be restricted.

3. Submission and Account Controls

To maintain a clean ecosystem, we implement the following:

  • Email Verification: Required for user account creation and form confirmation (via third-party services like ConvertKit or Jetpack).
  • Rate Limiting: Form entries and login attempts are throttled to prevent abuse.
  • Form Validation and Moderation: All submissions are reviewed manually and automatically for consistency, originality, and appropriateness.

4. Prohibited Activities

We strictly prohibit:

  • Use of bots, scrapers, or automated scripts to submit data.
  • Mass posting, link stuffing, or AI-generated content without disclosure.
  • Impersonation of real individuals or organizations.
  • Use of misleading, promotional, or fraudulent links, including phishing or affiliate fraud.
  • Spammy behavior on blog posts, contact forms, or directory submissions.

5. Enforcement Actions

When violations are detected:

  • Immediate Removal: Suspicious submissions or comments are deleted.
  • Account Suspension: Offending accounts or IP addresses are disabled or permanently banned.
  • Blacklist Reporting: We may report violators to third-party anti-spam and abuse networks.
  • Legal Cooperation: We cooperate with law enforcement and platform providers where needed.

6. Community Reporting

We encourage users to report any suspicious or spam-like activity. If you believe you have encountered spam, fraud, or abuse:

👉 Please report it via our Contact Page

All reports are reviewed confidentially and acted upon swiftly.
