A $10 e-book shares your knowledge. A $100 mini-course guides them step by step. A $1,000 coaching package gives them direct access to you. The value isn’t just in the information. It’s in how you deliver it.

Empathy means searching out facts. Empathy means caring about people but not just people in our inner circle. It means caring about people different than us. Even before something affects us personally. Or even if it never does.

Lawson’s Fevered Brain 14m I have noticed that since I was scammed and hacked and lost YouTube monetization, I’m more opinionated. I piss people off more often online. It remains to be seen if that’s a good thing, or not.

Self-awareness. Start by recognising your defensive behaviours and their triggers. This awareness is the first step towards change. A thought diary is a foundational place to begin increasing self-awareness. Keep track of thoughts that pop up in the form of an automatic reaction. Track what was occurring at the time. Track your level of emotion to the stimulus. If time allows, analyse the underlying reason for the emotion experienced.

Productivity’s Most Underrated Power Move: Saying No. The 24-hour “no” buffer saved me from burnout. Now when a new request comes in, I say, “Let me check priorities and get back to you tomorrow.” 80% of the time, the issue solves itself—or disappears. Delaying the yes can save your focus. What if your productivity boost isn’t in doing more—but dodging smarter?

The $100 Rule That Kills Fake Productivity. Would…

The $100 Rule That Kills Fake Productivity. Would you pay someone $100 to redo your meeting agenda? No? Then why are you doing it? “Productivity theatre” tasks feel important but suck time. Try this: Each morning, ask yourself, “Would I pay for this to get done?” If not, reverse-list it. Protect your time like a pro. Busy ≠ effective. Make that your daily mantra.

The To-Don’t List That Saved My Sanity. Traditional to-do lists reward busyness, not progress. I used to burn out by noon chasing 20 tiny tasks, none of which moved the needle. Enter the reverse to-do list—where I track what I won’t do. No Slack checks every 5 minutes. No obsessing over Dropbox folders. Suddenly, I had time for the work that actually mattered. Less guilt. More momentum. What would your day look like if you only tracked what drains you?

The good news since I wrote the previous section, I earned the bestseller badge with 192,000 subscribers on Substack last month. That was a joyful surprise, and one I am grateful for. I hardly got 200 subscribers on Medium in the last three years despite working so hard.

Drop the Guilt. Embrace the Biology. Your “bad”…

Drop the Guilt. Embrace the Biology. Your “bad” decisions weren’t just willpower failures—they were shaped by neural pathways, chemistry, and context. Once you see that, guilt gives way to compassion—for yourself and others. That doesn’t erase responsibility. It just grounds it in reality. We don’t blame a car when its brakes fail—we fix the system. Let’s upgrade the systems, not punish the parts. → If we understood behaviour this way, how would justice systems change?

If the brain is the director, what’s the…

If the brain is the director, what’s the role of consciousness? If your brain makes decisions before you become aware, is your conscious mind merely observing the performance? Maybe. But that doesn’t make life meaningless. Even actors bring something unique to the performance. You can shape your environment, habits, and relationships. You can be present. Freedom lies in how you engage with what unfolds. Morality, meaning, and mindfulness don’t vanish—they evolve. → Have you ever caught yourself acting before thinking? What might that reveal?

The Illusion of Free Will Can Be Liberating.…

The Illusion of Free Will Can Be Liberating. Letting go of free will doesn’t mean giving up—it means letting go of perfectionism, blame, and shame. Once you accept that your brain is influenced by biology and conditioning, you can stop berating yourself for every slip. That space creates room for growth, empathy, and perspective. It’s not an excuse—it’s a tool for self-understanding. → Curious how your unconscious shapes your day? The science behind it may surprise you.

Your Brain Decides Before You Do — And…

Your Brain Decides Before You Do — And That’s OK Neuroscience shows your brain may decide before you even realise you’re choosing. Libet’s and Soon’s experiments found that decision-related brain activity occurs seconds before conscious awareness. It’s unsettling at first — like realising you’re not the driver, just the passenger. But here’s the twist: that realisation can be freeing. Less guilt. More compassion. Fewer mental loops of “what if.” We’re not robots. We’re complex systems shaped by biology, experience, and environment. Maybe understanding that is the first step towards real self-improvement. → What would you do differently if you weren’t fully “in control”?

You think you’re being chill. But your brain…

You think you’re being chill. But your brain calls it danger. When you hide how you really feel… Your salience network (the part of your brain that detects what matters) starts glitching. You don’t know what you want. You stop trusting yourself. You call it “calm.” But it’s not calm. It’s self-abandonment dressed as emotional control. Authenticity isn’t some spiritual vibe. It’s neurobiology. It’s clarity in your nervous system. It’s your brain knowing: “I’m safe to be me.”

Most people still think obesity is just “calories…

Most people still think obesity is just “calories in, calories out.” But what if we told you immune cells are fueling the dysfunction? In obesity, monocytes switch energy systems. Their mitochondria underperform. They default to glycolysis, even when oxygen is abundant. This metabolic rewiring isn’t laziness. It’s biology. Understanding this could radically reshape obesity treatment.

You’re not broken. You’re wired for survival in a world that exploits it. The love of sugar isn’t gluttony. It’s biology playing defense. Once, sugar meant survival. Today, it means sabotage. Healing starts when we stop blaming ourselves And start understanding our design.
