A Haiku by Lyndsey Frondarina

A Haiku
I tell myself to
move but my body doesn’t
comply, paralyzed
Curator’s Note: Lyndsey Frondarina’s haiku reflects the struggle between intention and physical limitation. It captures a moment of internal conflict: the speaker wants to act but cannot move because of paralysis. The haiku’s succinctness highlights the emotional weight of feeling trapped in one’s own body, conveying themes of frustration and helplessness. The juxtaposition of the urge to move against the reality of immobility creates a poignant exploration of the mind-body connection. Overall, the haiku serves as a powerful meditation on the challenges faced when the will is not matched by physical capability.
