As we grow up, many of us grow estranged from our parents and have trouble re-establishing a connection. I never had a good relationship with my dad until after my mom passed away. My dad and I consciously decided to learn how to understand each other and get along. Children need to understand that their parents are human and they need to cut them some slack.
