Excellent examples for new readers and aspiring writers
In this episode, I present boosted stories in May and also link the ones from previous months for new readers. We spend significant time reviewing them, guiding writers, editing/formatting, and nominating them. It is a labor of love among writers and editors. Medium also invest in them to give a great reading experience to members.
The good news for writers is that boosted stories earn more income than non-boosted ones so our time on these stories are not wasted.
Frequently Asked Questions About BOOSTING
Dr Mehmet Yildiz answered important questions in this masterpiece. It is a must read if you want to increase the chances of boosting for your stories.

Boost Education
I began featuring writers by analyzing their stories and educating our writers about common patterns that boosted those stories. I have a few drafts to post soon. Here are the four episodes in this series:

Lessons Learned from Boosted Stories — Episode #2 Matt Williams-Spooner, Ph.D.

Curation of Non-Boosted Stories
Mike and I also curate non-boosted stories, as 99% of drafts submitted to our publications are not boosted and are as good as boosted ones. Some are even better depending on the readers’ preference. Sometimes, even the most exceptional stories are not boosted.
For example, last month 9 exceptional stories unanimously voted by our senior editors that I nominated were not accepted for a boost. That’s fine by me but I want to highlight the situation and dilemma of hard working editors editors and boost nominators face. We put a lot of time for it.
To nominate those 9 stories I read over 300 stories, edited them and wrote pitches why these stories deserved a boost but my efforts failed to convince the curators to choose them. I will keep trying as I really want well-crafted stories to gain visibility on this platform. Friends of Medium deserve high quality and insightful stories.
Not that important to me but last two months none of my stories were boosted. I was fortunate in previous months. Perhaps my writing went backwards. Mike thought that this story should be boosted. He wrote a humorous piece about it which was enjoyed by our elderly readers.

Our editors also feature specific stories individually or collectively. For example, our senior editor, Mike Broadly, DHSc featured three stories last weeks. Mike enjoys amplifying impactful and exceptional stories. Please enjoy them.

He also enjoys introducing writers of his publication Health & Science. For example he recently introduced Naya Monroe, MA, LCDC-I and Dr. ADAM TABRIZ.

By the way, Dr Tabriz also volunteered to be an editor of ILLUMINATION and he also established a new publication called Integrated Healthcare.
Like me Mike also create curated collections for non-boosted stories. He even agreed to curate older ones as they hardly find any views. We noticed that the algorithm does not distribute older stories so we feature them to bring new readers. It is impossible for readers to find over a million stories that we publish unless we feature them.
Here’s a sample satirical and humorous collection by Mike. While entertaining readers he also introduces exceptional stories and update them with platform news. Does Medium Still Flirt with X? Another hardworking editor The Sturg started curated collections. Please take a look at his excellent collection. The Sturg’s Illumination Editorial Picks: Third Edition. Sturg is also pub owner and he is a boost nominator as well. Currently he is having a break from editorial duties. He worked too hard as our most active editor.
