Who Is Real Robert F. Kennedy Jr.?

Should I Believe Online Trolls or the American Federal Government?

Congratulations, RFK Jr. — Your Leadership in Healthcare Just Earned My Respect

Yesterday, I wrote a heartfelt piece on the urgent need to fix America’s broken healthcare system. In doing so, I mentioned RFK Jr. and his approval rating. What happened next felt like the sky was collapsing.

I have never faced such an intense backlash on Medium, where words used to matter. This reminded me of when I wrote about diversity on NewsBreak last year and faced severe defamation. I thought this platform was where we could initiate healthy debates and agree on disagreeing professionally.

I set the scene carefully, made clear explanations like the story was not about politics and my focus was on opening a healthy dialogue about the healthcare system in the US, and I provided both pros and cons of the situation, reflecting the perspectives of both supporters and critics to give a full picture. Some even found linking the video debunking the 17K fake email issue offensive.

What does this mean and what I learned from this backlash?

So, let me get this straight: we can no longer discuss healthcare or diversity without being attacked on this platform. this is disheartening. But I will not give up. Telling our truth is necessary no matter how online trolls attack us. True leaders don’t give up because of noise.

Now, once more, I noticed that America is deeply divided. It is as if no matter how well-intentioned your words are if they do not align with a particular political agenda, you are dismissed as worthless. That is absurd.

I approached my story professionally, outlining both the strengths and criticisms of RFK Jr. I did not endorse him or paint him as a hero.

I simply analyzed the available data, especially the sentiment I gathered from social media. Yet, my words were twisted beyond recognition. I was called names. Some healthcare professionals unfollowed me. Some even sent private threats.

Here is one heartbreaking example:

I was even told by a writer on this platform that my scientific qualifications were not sufficient to discuss healthcare — implying that I had no right to open a dialogue on such critical issues. According to this person, I was “confusing readers” and misleading them simply by presenting facts. Then came the real insult — they claimed that my 103K followers were “dumb” for following me.

Let that sink in.

A writer whose work revolves around trivial matters and has only 600 followers attempted to discredit me — not with logic, not with facts, but with personal attacks and follower count envy. And why?

Because I did not include the word “genocide” in my analysis of RFK Jr. That accusation alone baffled me, as my research uncovered no such evidence. If I knew, I could have included it. I am not a genocide supporter.

This is not about debate. This is not about truth-seeking. This is about platform bias — where certain voices are allowed to dominate while others are aggressively silenced. If you challenge the prevailing narrative, your credentials are questioned, your intelligence is mocked, and your audience is insulted.

This is not how an open platform should operate. If facts are not enough to have a civil discussion, then what does that say about the integrity of this space?

What does this say about our society?

Ironically, instead of deterring me, these attacks had the opposite effect. They made me more curious about RFK Jr.

Now, I genuinely want to know: who is he? And who is telling the truth — his critics or the official records of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)?

Now, let me summarize what I found today so you can review the official source yourself. If you disagree with what the American government has published, you have every right as a concerned citizen to reach out and request a correction.

As an Australian citizen, my feedback may not carry the same weight — but yours might.

What the American Federal Government Says About RFK Jr.

I turned to the most credible and up-to-date source available: the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). And here is what I found in summary:

  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was sworn in as the 26th Secretary of HHS under President Trump.
  • He immediately supported the “Make America Healthy Again” initiative, aiming to uncover the root causes of chronic disease, especially in children.
  • He pledged to empower parents with the truth so they could make informed health decisions for their children.
  • He will oversee a $2 trillion budget, managing institutions like the NIH, CDC, FDA, and Medicare/Medicaid.
  • As Secretary, he administers all HHS programs, operating divisions, and activities to ensure the health and safety of American citizens.
  • He comes from a long line of revered American politicians — his uncle was President John F. Kennedy, and his father was Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.
  • He has carried on his family’s legacy of public service by dedicating himself to environmental advocacy and children’s health.
  • He is one of the nation’s most influential environmentalists, known for winning major legal battles against corporate polluters and government agencies violating the Clean Water Act.
  • He was named TIME Magazine’s “Hero of the Planet” and received the Sartisky Peace Award for his relentless environmental activism.
  • He founded Waterkeeper Alliance, the world’s largest clean water advocacy group, active in 46 countries with over 1 million volunteers.
  • He also founded Children’s Health Defense, a national organization focused on preventing childhood chronic diseases linked to toxic exposures.
  • He is an award-winning writer with two New York Times bestsellers: Crimes Against Nature (2005) and The Real Anthony Fauci (2021).
  • His highly acclaimed autobiography, American Values: Lessons I Learned from My Family (2018), explores his family’s legacy and his lifelong mission to serve the public.
  • He is a Harvard graduate with additional studies at the London School of Economics, the University of Virginia Law School, and Pace University School of Law, where he earned a master’s degree in environmental law.
  • He is married to actress Cheryl Hines, and they have seven children together.

So, is this the same man that online trolls are calling dangerous? A fraud? Is someone unfit for public service?

Regardless of personal views, these are facts. Not conspiracy theories. It’s not social media speculation.

With decades of experience as a scientist and professional, I stand for healthy debate — not blind loyalty or knee-jerk reactions. Criticism is valuable when it considers both pros and cons with curiosity, logic, and scientific rigor. Anything less is just noise.

I do not take random and fake Internet letters as credible sources — if they are not verifiable, they are not worth my time.

On a personal note, if a 71-year-old man maintains a sharp mind and strong body through healthy choices, he earns my respect. I am far more inclined to listen to someone leading by example than to those with poor health, fueled by junk food, hiding behind keyboards while trying to silence a leader who actually walks the talk.

Criticism is part of any discussion, and it is the foundation of scientific inquiry. But when disagreement turns into blind hatred, when facts are ignored in favor of political narratives, when professionals choose to unfollow rather than engage in meaningful dialogue, we have a much bigger problem.

Reducing RFK Jr. to just an ‘anti-vaccine’ label while ignoring his focus on ‘pro-safety’ is neither scientific nor logical. If we genuinely care about public health, should we not welcome discussions about safety and transparency rather than shutting them down with slogans?

America’s health is not a partisan issue. It never should be.

If we cannot even discuss solutions, how will we ever fix what is broken?

To end my story:

I am not a Trump supporter, and I steer clear of politics. However, I credit where it is due. Therefore:

I appreciate President Trump for recognizing and supporting the expertise of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jim O’Neill, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, Dr. Dave Weldon, Dr. Marty Makary, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Dr. Aseem Malhotra, and my friend Dr. Mehmet Oz. Good leadership is about making room for those who challenge the status quo, which is worth acknowledging.

For those questioning my political neutrality, I invite you to check a piece I wrote back in 2020 on this platform, where I openly expressed my excitement about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I genuinely supported them, hoping they would make a real impact on chronic health conditions in the U.S. during their four-year term. While that change never truly materialized, I remain grateful for what they did accomplish for American citizens.

For those advocating for increased accountability in healthcare, the leadership of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. presents both challenges and opportunities for substantive change.
