A pearl-infused face serum is presented in an elegant, softly lit skincare setting.
What if your next face serum could be made from a handful of simple ingredients lying in your kitchen and bathroom cabinets?
I have a perfect concoction that I want to share with you all. But first, lets dive into how each ingredient will benefit your skin in wonderful ways.
1. Flax Seeds for a Silky, Hydrated Feel
Flaxseeds, when simmered in water, they release a natural gel like texture. It is slippery and yet smooth and great for achieving soft and supple skin.
Flaxseeds are packed with nutrients like fatty acids and antioxidant compounds.
2. Rice Water for Soft, Refreshed Skin
Rice, soaked and then simmered in water, produces cloudy liquid which can make your skin look clean and fresh.
3. Vitamin E for Conditioning
Vitamin E is used vastly in the market being high in antioxidants. It can be used in small portions for this recipe. However, in large quantities, it can cause breakouts because of its rich texture.
4. Rose hip oil for Nourishment
Rose hip is quite popular for facial oils because of being rich fatty acids and nourishing properties. Thus, it is GREAT for fine lines and wrinkles.
5. Aloe Vera Gel for a Cooling Touch
Aloe Vera is one of the most familiar ingredients in natural skincare.
Its calm and cooling properties will make anything balanced.
Its gel can provide lightweight hydration.
Now to the big reveal, The Recipe !!

- 1 tablespoons rice water
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon pure aloe vera gel
- 1 teaspoon rose hip oil
- Contents of 1 vitamin E capsule
How to Make It
Step 1: Make the flaxseed gel + Rice water
Soak 1 tablespoon each of rice and flaxseeds for 10 minutes. Then boil them in water till the flax seeds release its gel texture (roughly 7 mins boil).
Once done, put them aside to come to room temperature.
Step 2: Combine all ingredients
Add the cooled flaxseed and rice water liquid and aloe vera gel to a clean container.
Add one teaspoon of rose hip oil and the contents of one vitamin E capsule.
Mix thoroughly.
Because the recipe contains both water and oil, the ingredients may separate. Gently shake or stir the mixture before every application.
How to Use This Homemade Face Serum
Start with clean, dry skin.
Apply a small amount of the serum to your face, avoiding the immediate eye area. Gently spread it over the skin rather than rubbing aggressively.
Once it has absorbed, follow with your regular moisturizer if needed.
During the daytime, always finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
You don’t need to use a large amount. A thin layer is enough.
For beginners, using the serum two or three times a week is a reasonable starting point. If your skin responds well, you can decide whether it fits comfortably into your routine.
Precautions Before Using Homemade Face Serum
Home made does not mean its risk free. So always do a patch test before using even natural ingredients.
FINAL THOUGHTS
My purpose of sharing this serum with you all is for you all to get the same benefits that I have gotten. I discovered the recipe a month ago and my oily, acne prone, and blemished skin is thanking me for it.
My postpartum melasma has gotten reasonably light and the oil on my skin is quite controlled when i use this rice based serum.
Of course, products with natural ingredients take their sweet time to show visible results. But when they do, they are lasting. Thats what I believe in.
