What is the value that truly matters in the modern world?
Curator’s Note: In today’s world, the value that matters has shifted from physical strength to intellectual capability, reflecting the importance of information processing and decision-making. However, the future may focus on emotional depth, emphasizing empathy, compassion, and emotional responsibility. In a data-driven society, the ability to feel will become paramount, overshadowing mere intelligence and physical prowess. This belief resonates with ancient Egyptian wisdom, where the heart was weighed against truth, underscoring that what truly counts are the emotional legacies we leave behind. Ultimately, human evolution will hinge not on how we think or act, but on how deeply we feel and connect with others.
There was a time when a manโs worth was measured by his muscles.
Strength was synonymous with greatness.
In the earliest days of humanity, survival belonged to those who hunted best, who faced fierce predators, who protected the group with their own bodies. Physical vigor was necessary, visible, unquestionable.
As centuries passed, the axis of power shifted.
Today, muscles no longer occupy the center.
We live in the age of the mind.
Value now lies in intelligence, in the ability to process information, create systems, interpret data, and make swift decisions. Power rests in the hands of those who understand structures, command algorithms, and move knowledge as currency.
In a globalized world, those who rise to the top are the ones capable of integrating people and information.
But I believe this will not be the final transformation.
The future will not belong solely to the strongest, nor to those with the greatest intellectual prowess.
The future will belong to those who feel.
A time will come when the true value of a person will be measured by the size of their heart โ not in a physical sense, but in their empathy, compassion, awareness, and emotional responsibility. In a world saturated with data and machines, what will truly make the difference is what no form of engineering can reproduce: the ability to feel.
Perhaps that is why the Egyptians already understood something we are only now rediscovering.
It was believed that after death, the heart was placed upon a scale. Anubis, the jackal-headed god, weighed the heart of the deceased against the feather of truth โ a symbol of justice and universal order. If the heart was heavier, burdened with guilt, selfishness, and imbalance, the soul could not move forward.
Wealth was not weighed.
Titles were not examined.
What mattered was not how much one accumulated in life.
Only the seeds of love each person left behind to bloom.
Perhaps, in a few years, humanity will seek this ancient wisdom once again: understanding that evolution is not merely about thinking faster or producing more, but about feeling more deeply.
Because in the end, it will not be strength that defines us, nor the isolated mind โ
but what we were able to carry within ourselves.
