Merhaba Nazli, welcome. Let’s start with a bit about your background.

Selam Dr. Yildiz, thank you for this kind invitation, which meant a lot to me. This opportunity is an honor and a privilege for me. I’d be happy to provide background and samples of my work to your audience. I am really excited and delighted to converse with you.

As a profession, I work as a civil engineer and architect in Istanbul, a city in Turkiye that is a living example of structural evolution and rich history. In my scholarly stories, I describe my engineering work as:

The rigid, calculating world of structural engineering, where gravity, load-bearing physics, and safety concerns are absolute, and the limitless, legendary landscapes of high fantasy are two seemingly contradictory universes that are constantly and rhythmically conversing in my working life.

“3ds Max 3D Modelling + D5 Render” Skyscraper Design and Modeling by Nazli AYDIN

For over 5 years, I have navigated the complexities of urban design and 3D visualization, but my true passion is in ‘blueprinting the intangible.’

When I am rendering a high-end luxury interior in 3ds Max or dissecting the architectural feasibility of an Elven stronghold in Middle-earth, my goal is to find the ‘Structural Integrity’ in every story I tell.

“3ds Max 3D Modelling + D5 Render” Office Design and Modeling by Nazli AYDIN

Going beyond structures, I observe the “Silent Language” of sustainable shapes. Because of my dual identities and multiple roles, I can approach the development of digital material from unique perspectives that combine technical accuracy with a profound philosophical respect for world-building.

Today, I curate spaces under the handle Misselbereth that show how even the most ethereal aspirations need a strong basis to stand upon by bridging the gap between ancient tales and contemporary design.

Why did you choose your profession, Nazli?

“Neufert style Charcaol Architecture” Art Sketch by Nazli AYDIN(Misselbereth)

I selected engineering and architecture as my career because they are found at the unique nexus of poetry and logic.

The thought that a single, exact line on a piece of vellum could one day materialize into a physical haven for a human spirit has long captivated me.

In my view, a structure is more than just a collection of steel, glass, and stone; it is a container for human experience.

“Neufert style Charcaol Architecture” Art Sketch by Nazli AYDIN(Misselbereth)

The way a high-vaulted ceiling might inspire wonder, or how a well-placed window might frame a peaceful moment, are two examples of the “silent language” of spaces that really appeal to me.

I can use geometry in architecture to control the rhythm of heritage, security, and emotion.

My profession demands absolute technical honesty. What I mean by that is if your calculations are wrong, the structure fails. But without your vision, the structure is merely a hollow shell.

“3ds Max 3D Modelling” Skyscraper Design and Modeling by Nazli AYDIN (Misselbereth)

I try to balance these two influences in my work. I regard my function as a translator, whether I’m creating a contemporary, ultra-luxurious home or studying the legendary fortifications of ancient mythology.

To ensure the final “geometry of happiness” is both visually beautiful and fundamentally sound, I translate abstract dreams into structural realities. I selected a way to observe and influence the state of the world, not just a career.”

What do health and well-being mean to you?

I define health as the structural integrity of the body and mind, not just the absence of disease. No matter how lovely its outside, a building without a strong foundation is a liability in my line of work.

I live my life according to this same concept. My main pillar of support as a creative is mental clarity. The entire creative framework is at risk if the pillar gives way under persistent stress or clutter.

Well-being is a purposeful act of design for me. I consider my health from the perspective of “Cognitive Longevity,” as you also described in your stories. This involves a disciplined management of my environment and my internal state.

My dedicated 1m² workspace, which I affectionately call ‘Elrond’s Library,’ is not just a desk; it is a sacred sanctuary designed for deep focus and neuro-rhythmic balance. It is where I silence the ‘industrial noise’ of the outside world to engage in the ‘slow architecture’ of thought.

I believe that the balance between our bodies and minds is directly impacted by the settings we live in. I am protecting my most valuable resource, which is my focus, by keeping my surroundings neat, lovely, and organized.

Walking through Istanbul’s old streets or spending some time in the peaceful geometry of a well-drawn line seems to me like a form of meditation.

Finding the grace to live fearlessly in one’s own foundations while maintaining the soul’s luminosity and capacity for joy is the essence of true well-being.”

What are your hobbies, or what excites or entertains you?

Art Sketch by Nazli AYDIN (Misselbereth)

Beyond the structural calculations and digital renders, I am a dedicated ‘LOTR-Master.’

What truly excites me is the intersection of ancient mythology and architectural feasibility.

As an analyst of J.R.R. Tolkien’s technical worldbuilding as well as a reader, I get great pleasure from delving deeply into his legendarium.

“How would the foundations of Orthanc actually hold up?” and “What is the structural secret behind the aesthetics of Rivendell?” are two questions that frequently cross my mind.

Art Sketch by Nazli AYDIN (Misselbereth)

My artistic energy comes from turning this vast mythology into tangible artwork. My hands are soiled with charcoal and terracotta because I enjoy the visceral, gritty friction of traditional sketching to offset my digital precision.

A fundamental sensation of fulfillment can be achieved by making a silhouette out of a thick coating of charcoal or by applying a warm terracotta wash that looks like the “last light of a sunset” over an Elven library.

Art Sketch by Nazli AYDIN (Misselbereth)

The ritual of arranging my tools, technical pens, and T-squares like artifacts from a strategic center is another aspect of the “Strategy of the Desk” that excites me.

A pastime, in my opinion, is a laboratory for the soul rather than a diversion from work. For example:

When sketching a Celtic knot or analyzing the “archaeology of identity” in a philosophical book, I search for the “Aha!” moments. When a thousand-year-old story solves a modern design challenge, my readers get awe-inspiring sensations.

This constant pursuit of beauty and order in my work keeps my soul alive and enables me to live a joyful, calm, and fulfilling life despite daily challenges and setbacks.

What are the top three books affected your life?

Selecting only three books is a challenge for me, but these three form the triad of my creative and professional philosophy:

1 — The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien:

I interpret this as a master lecture in the “First Principles” of creation, although many perceive it as a compilation of myths. Tolkien examines the idea of “Sub-creation,” which holds that we create because we were created. It taught me that every undertaking, be it a building or a novel, ought to have a spirit and a logical internal logic. It’s my ultimate reference for understanding how beauty and order emerge from chaos.

2 — The Republic by Plato:

Plato’s ‘Allegory of the Cave’ is a lens through which I view modern digital design and 3D visualization. We frequently see “shadows on the wall” in this era of extremely realistic renderings. This book motivates me to look for a space’s “True Form,” its underlying function and structural reality beyond its external appearance. It acts as a constant reminder that design ought to be both beautiful and instructive.

I write about this issue titled Galadriel’s Mirror and Plato’s Cave: Is the Reality We See Just a Reflection… or Are We All Just…

3 — Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead:

Howard Roark’s personality remains a significant illustration of creative architectural design and a unique perspective. This book taught me how important it is to uphold one’s professional values in the face of criticism. It reinforced my belief that a structure must be a coherent whole in which each component advances the central notion. It’s a manifesto for anyone who refuses to compromise the ‘Structural Honesty’ of their work.”

Why do you write on Medium?

I view Medium as a distinct yet interconnected space in my digital ecosystem. I write on Medium to find ‘The Fellowship of Thinkers.’

I see Medium like a vibrant, engaging, and global square where my technical analyses of architecture and philosophy can meet a ‘soulful’ and diverse audience.

I can engage with both seasoned leaders and curious minds via Medium, turning a solitary act of writing into a communal discussion.

This platform is the perfect environment for my personal “Illumination” [pun intended], as it enables me to test ideas and build connections across several disciplines.

Do you write on other platforms like Substack? If so, how do you find them?

Yes, I also write on Substack. I see it as my private library and inner sanctum. It is the home of the ‘Misselbereth Chronicles,’ where I share my most personal thoughts, in-depth analyses of architecture, and exclusive drawings for my most devoted subscribers.

As a metaphor, if Medium is where I interact with the outside world, Substack is where I establish a home for those who truly share my objectives. I try to integrate both platforms as you advise your writers and proteges.

My development has been greatly aided by building a balance between these two. Medium provides reach and community spirit, while Substack offers depth and a direct, unfiltered connection with my readers.

In an integrated way, these two large and creator-friendly platforms allow me to maintain my structural integrity as a creator, offering broad insights to the many, while reserving complex layers of my lore for the audience who wish to walk the path with me. As a new member of both platforms I am very excited.

The same principles that direct my work as an architect and engineer also govern me as a writer: depth, authenticity, and precision.

I support the “Slow Architecture” of narrative in a world of ephemeral trends and superficial content. Every word I select must have a structural function, and every story I construct must be strong enough to endure close examination by loyal readers.

What are your values as a writer?

I have a strict rule. I won’t romanticize the break. Let me explain what I mean by this statement:

In both buildings and souls, it is tempting to look at a crack and call it ‘character’ without understanding its cause. Even though “light enters through the cracks,” my goal is to read life’s structure with honesty.

Is this a structural collapse that requires repair, or is it a fracture that must be accepted as a part of our history?

My objective is to give my readers “Structural Clarity.” I believe that authenticity goes beyond being ‘unbroken’; it involves being conscious, compassionate, and alive.

I write to help others (and myself) map out their own ‘inner geometry’ without fear. If my writing can help someone restore proportion to their lives or find the grace to inhabit their own foundations more fully, then I have succeeded.

As a principle, I don’t write to offer an escape; I write to offer a better way to stay and build.

For me, writing serves as both a communication tool and a form of architecture. Laying the foundation, finding a balance between light and shade, and ensuring that every word serves a clear purpose are the same principles that guide my 3D design approach when I sit down to write. Three fundamental pillars form the foundation of my values as a writer:

  1. Architectural Integrity and ‘Knowledge Sanctuaries’:
Among this massive digital noise and rapid consumption, I value the creation of ‘Knowledge Sanctuaries.’ A well-designed environment should, in my opinion, provide the same “Quiet Luxury” and peace as a digital piece. My intention is to create a space where readers can explore the intersection of classical philosophy, buried lore, and contemporary engineering at their own pace. I want to write a novel that feels like a haven where the mind can find order amid chaos.
  2. The Bridge Between Worlds and Sincere Dualism:
I think multidisciplinary synthesis has great potential. The goal of my writing is to connect the emotional resonance of a storyteller with the technical accuracy of a 3D artist. I respect intellectual integrity, whether I’m examining the surveillance ethics of Big Data through Sauron’s perspective or the urban hierarchy of Minas Tirith. I don’t hesitate to use “Sincere Humor” to simplify difficult academic ideas because I think that great truths are best communicated with a human touch and a hint of humor.
  3. Craftsmanship and Visual Translation:
As a designer, I perceive the world through geometry, light, and textures. Translating these visual impressions into words is what makes me valuable as a writer. I consider each sentence to be a “render” of an idea. I value craftsmanship, the idea that a sentence should reflect the attention to detail I put into a collection of 1,000 sketches. I write to show that the objects and environments we inhabit are archives of human psychology, history, and objectives rather than merely physical objects.

My writing is ultimately an attempt to find meaningful permanence. I want my readers to walk away not just with information, but with a new ‘lens’ through which to view the built world and the digital abyss.

How do you connect with your readers?

I connect with my readers by acting as a sincere steward of the worlds I explore and document. What I mean by that:

I don’t view my audience as passive consumers of information; I see them as guests entering a space I have carefully curated for them. My connection strategy is built on three specific layers.

Beyond writing, I am constructing a multidimensional design empire where technical precision meets high-end mythic storytelling. I attempt to appeal to a broad audience with diverse interests, from technical to architectural to artistic angles.

I am working on building a global authority where ‘Misselbereth’ becomes synonymous with intentional, ultra-luxury design and philosophical depth. My roadmap unfolds across several ambitious pillars:

Let me introduce the ‘Misselbereth’ Literary & Technical Archive, which offers unique value to my readers.

I am working on a series of comprehensive books that will bridge my Medium and Substack narratives into detailed, ‘Gold Edition’ volumes.

These include a definitive History of Architecture & Art Analysis, in which I conduct site surveys of historical structures and reimagine them as modern, ultra-luxury versions for today’s world.

Additionally, I am curating a series of works exploring the intersections of Architecture, Technology, Philosophy, and Lifestyle through the lens of Tolkien’s Legendarium.

Ultra-Luxury Architecture & VR Interconnectivity:

I am systematically processing a massive professional archive of 1,000 interior design projects. My goal is to elevate these into the realm of VR Interior Design, creating ‘Neufert-style’ spatial books that focus on high-end proportions and ‘Quiet Luxury.’ This includes a specialized focus on ‘Gold Fashion’ aesthetics, merging my architectural background with the world of ultra-luxury home design.

The Porcelain Doll Project and Barbie Doll:

One of my most cherished upcoming projects is the ‘Porcelain Doll’ series. These are not merely toys; they are ‘Royal Luxury’ artifacts.

This vision culminates in ‘The Little Atelier’, a couture collection in which the complex, hand-crafted outfits of these porcelain dolls are translated into real-world luxury children’s clothing.

My Industrial Design:

I am currently designing this artistic journey, which is fueling my move into Industrial Design (Objects of Desire).

I am creating industrial design products, furniture, and artifacts meticulously crafted from marble, brushed brass, and leather, where the elegance of modern design meets the structural rigor of modern engineering.

My strategic goal is to move beyond digital screens and into the physical and virtual spaces people inhabit. Whether it’s through a book, a piece of couture, or a VR sanctuary, I want to invite my audience to live within the ‘Structural Clarity’ and mythic beauty I have spent my life drafting.

Let’s talk about your content marketing strategy and publishing calendar.

Why did you join ILLUMINATION, and how do you find it so far?

I joined ILLUMINATION because I wanted to be part of a digital community that actively supported multidisciplinary work rather than just tolerated it.

As an architect with a philosophical and fantastical perspective, I often thought that my work was “too artistic” for technical circles and “too technical” for art circles. ILLUMINATION seemed to be the ideal junction, where various voices come together to foster an international intellectual conversation.

What drew me in was the publication’s commitment to authentic growth and synergy. I observed a community that supports the ‘Sincere Steward’ approach, in which up-and-coming innovators and seasoned mentors like Dr. Mehmet support one another’s digital authority.

The voyage has been illuminating. What I appreciate most is the freedom of scale. ILLUMINATION provides a stage for me to publish a 20-minute deep dive into Cartesian Dualism and reach an audience that actually engages with the nuance. It’s rare to find a platform that respects the reader’s attention span and the writer’s craftsmanship equally.

The sense of synergy is real; it has encouraged me to refine my ‘Misselbereth’ persona and given me the confidence to share my 1,000 interior design archive not just as portfolio pieces, but as stories.

Illumination is not just a publication; for me, it will become a digital laboratory where I can test the boundaries of architecture, art, and storytelling for a supportive community

What are your top five stories that you want to share with your audience and why?

Each of these stories represents a pillar of my philosophy, bridging the gap between fictional grandeur and real-world application. Here are my top five picks:

1. The Golden Hall of Rohan: Why the Rohirrim Built with Oak Instead of Granite

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

Why: This is a deep dive into Architectural Anthropology. It’s not just about Lord of the Rings; it’s about how culture, climate, and available materials dictate the soul of a building. I wanted to show that even in fantasy, design must have a logical and biological foundation.

The Architectural Soul of the Riddermark: Why Meduseld is a Timber Masterpiece in a World of Stonemedium.com

2. Designing Imladris in Manhattan: How to Build a Mythic Sanctuary Above the Concrete Jungle

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

Why: This is where my professional life as an architect meets my passion for lore. It’s a practical guide on creating ‘Knowledge Sanctuaries’ in our modern, chaotic cities. It teaches readers how to use Elven aesthetic principles to find tranquility in a high-pressure environment like New York.

3. Barad-dûr’s Dark Foundations: What Sauron Didn’t Know About Scaling, but Your Cloud Engineer Does

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

Why: I love this piece because it uses Structural Engineering as a metaphor for modern technology. By analyzing the literal and metaphorical ‘scaling’ failures of the Dark Tower, I connect the ancient art of masonry with the modern challenges of cloud computing and systemic growth.

4. Galadriel’s Mirror and Plato’s Cave: Is the Reality We See Just a Reflection?

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

Why: This is my most philosophical work. It bridges the gap between Classic Epistemology and Fantasy. It challenges the reader to question their perception of reality, using Galadriel’s Mirror as a lens to explore Plato’s timeless allegories.

5. One Ring to Rule All Your Data: How Sauron’s Eye Predicted Centralized Surveillance and Big Data

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

Why: This story is a warning. It’s a synthesis of Design Ethics and Digital Surveillance. I wanted to illustrate that the ‘monolithic’ power Sauron sought is exactly what modern surveillance capitalism is achieving through big data. It’s a call for ‘digital privacy’ hidden inside a Middle-earth analysis.”

What are the success factors for you as a writer?

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

Success, in my opinion, is an ongoing process of creating connections between disparate domains and disciplines rather than a destination. I use four main criteria to gauge my success:

  1. Narrative Resonance (The ‘Aha!’ Moment):

When a reader tells me they will never look at a structure or a computer interface the same way again, that is the pinnacle of achievement for me. A piece of writing is successful if I can explain a complicated architectural theory or a data privacy concern using a Tolkien-like metaphor, and it “clicks” for the reader. Success is transforming ‘information’ into ‘insight.’

2. Visual-Textual Synergy:

My career as an architect, civil engineer, and 3D artist depends on how well my words and visual art work together. My Green & Charcoal sketches are successful when they enhance the narrative’s emotional experience while also illustrating the words. When the art and the word become inseparable, the story becomes a ‘Knowledge Sanctuary.’

3. Interdisciplinary Authority:

I consider myself successful when I can engage with an engineer, a philosopher, and a gamer in the same comment section. Breaking the ‘silos’ of knowledge is a core goal. Building a reputation as a bridge-builder between the technical world of architecture and the mythic world of storytelling is how I define professional growth.

4. Meaningful Engagement over Mass Consumption:

In the world of 2026, where ‘digital noise’ is everywhere, I value reading time and thoughtful dialogue over mere clicks. Success is having a reader spend 20 minutes deeply immersed in my analysis of Erebor rather than having 1,000 people scroll past it in seconds. I am looking for the ‘Deep Readers, ’ the ones seeking silence and depth in a loud digital abyss.

5. Building a Lasting Legacy (Digital Authority):

Lastly, success is contributing to a permanent body of work that search engines and human minds alike recognize as a source of truth and inspiration. As Dr. Mehmet often emphasizes, building digital authority is about consistency. Success is seeing ‘Misselbereth’ become a synonym for thoughtful, architecturally-driven storytelling.

What do you recommend to the new writers?

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

I’ve learned from my transition from a silent designer to a writer that writing involves creating a presence rather than just using words.

I’d like to summarize my top suggestions for new writers who are just getting started:

Find your ‘Niche Dualism’

Focus on ‘Digital Authority’ from day one

Build a ‘Knowledge Sanctuary’ for your readers

Be a ‘Sincere Steward’ of your craft

What are your plans as a writer or as a professional?

Art Sketch by Misselbereth

My mission is to redefine how we inhabit and perceive space by merging the boundaries of the physical and digital worlds. I am moving toward a future where architecture is not just seen, but deeply felt and experienced.

As a Professional:

My primary goal is to become a globally recognized authority on VR (Virtual Reality) interior design. My goal is to provide an immersive edge to projects for international design companies and high-end real estate developers.

Instead of traditional presentations, I offer a ‘living’ experience through VR, allowing global clients to walk through their future sanctuaries long before the first stone is laid. I want to be the bridge for developers who seek to sell a lifestyle of ‘Quiet Luxury’ through cutting-edge technology.

Whether it’s a penthouse in New York, a villa in Europe, or a commercial ‘Knowledge Sanctuary’ in a rising tech hub, my plan is to provide the 3D artistry and VR precision that makes these visions tangible.

As a Writer and Future Book Author:

I am currently working on transforming my ‘Misselbereth’ into a series of books. These upcoming publications will serve as permanent manifestos for my unique synthesis of architecture, fantasy lore, and philosophy. My plan is to:

Publish My Architectural Stories: I am preparing to release books that guide readers through the ‘Soul of Space,’ using my extensive archive of 1,600 sketches to illustrate how we can build ‘White Cities’ in our own lives.

Global Digital Influence: As you wisely suggested, I am enhancing my digital footprint to ensure my books and VR studio work in synergy.

Educate through Legacy: These books will be the cornerstone of my legacy, offering a ‘Knowledge Sanctuary’ that people can hold in their hands, bridging the gap between the digital abyss and the physical library.
